Nova Friburgo is in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro, is part of the Organ Mountains and is mandatory when it crosses the state through BR-116. It’s worth a stop in town to enjoy the mountains and activities with rivers, caves and walks in the region. Besides the natural beauty, Nova Friburgo has the charm of the Swiss colonization printed on the buildings and customs, as well as in cooking. Tourism is second in the region’s economy, second only to textile production. The village of Lumiar is the center of ecotourism in the city.
